After 25 minutes you can condense it into a 30, 60, or 180 second gif. There aren’t options for cutting out idle time or following perspective, so there’s stretches where you can’t tell if you’re just doing detail work or nothing at all. You could spend 25 hours on a masterpiece, start the download, and stare at your screen for 25 minutes. The video processes by playing the speedpaint at 1 second per minute, and will cancel if you don’t have it on screen. Speed paint This needs to be optional, like MB’s. MB actually scales well & can be used for pixel art. This makes it impossible to use for pixel art. Even if you exactly double the pixels and try every scaling method it will be fuzzy. Image Scaling It has a horrible image scaler. Medibang’s max canvas size at 350 dpi is 57x57 inches. ![]() 350 is NICE print quality.) At the default 350 dpi, the image limits are 11.7x11.7 inches. ![]() It’s 10 dollars JUST to remove ads, so I use an ad blocker. Many brushes are ad-locked and inaccessible offline. (Check the first 15 seconds of this post for a particularly bad ad.) Give me a better app with these and I will jump ship.Īds They have AUDIO on LOOP for ads that aren’t on the screen. I’m use IPx only bc of the assets and the single fully aliased brush I made. ![]() I use MB for pixel art or the larger canvas. Most of my scorn is directed at how IPx is hostile to human life: ads, paid QoL, and speedpaint problems. IPx weaknesses: anti-aliasing, ads, canvas size, image scaling (makes pixel art impossible),* speed paint, premium quality of life features MB weaknesses: unintuitive select tool, inflexible paint bucket & magic wand, assets are unsorted and mostly for manga, anti-alias sucks Where IPx wins: free & useful assets (such as material textures & backgrounds, seriously I cannot overstate how useful it is), cool filters, superior select & paint bucket, text features don’t require the internet Where MB wins: pixel art, image sizes, can easily use any brush as an eraser, ability to quickly toggle between two colors, can easily make any image into a brush, all your brushes are available offline for free, speed paint is optional, resizing images, fantastic gradient tool ![]() Tldr I hate ibispaint and hate medibang less. I mainly use these apps for making art (anime & pixel). I have used the medibang app for 7+ years and the ibispaint app everyday for 8 months.
